All About Me
My name is Katelynne and I live in Canton, CT. I am a full time stay at home mother to 3 beautiful pre-school aged children and have been married to my high school sweetie 10 yrs this yr! My life has always revolved around animals. From the moment I could legally volunteer and work, it’s been animal involved. I’ve done countless hours walking dogs in shelters after school and in between lectures in college & interned at CT’s Beardsley Zoo working with the predators. I’ve put in countless hours and several years at a wildlife sanctuary handling and teaching children about exotic animals, managed the “small animal” department at a pet shop while in college, and fostered over 30 dogs during my time volunteering for a rescue. Naturally, I hold a degree in Biology where I studied in both South Carolina and CT. I have 4 yrs under my belt for being a therapy dog team with one of my own personal dogs, Chili, where we would visit a rehab hospital every week bringing smiles and happy tears to the patients and residents. I indulged myself in school again some years after college to become certified in professional dog training, and shortly after offered my behavior services to dog owners all over CT. I was a puppy socialization class instructor for a couple years, which was obviously sooo fun!! But, COVID put a halt to all of those adventures but little did I know something of greater calling was waiting.
I own 3 rescue mutts myself and am currently living my childhood dream of operating and loving on my small homemade hobby farm, where I raise chickens & ducks, and hope to add quail this spring! I also have a pet rabbit, pet African Grey Parrot, and two of the most lovable miniature donkeys.
The better part of my career has been working as a veterinary technician for 11 years where I’ve worked both general small animal medicine and specialty medicine in exotics. It’s been a wonderfully rewarding career. But life changes has brought me here, to where exactly a year ago, Paws 2 Go was born. Amongst all of the adventures in my life work-wise, this has been no doubt one of the most satisfying and rewarding paths. I feel like I’ve truly found my calling to care for your beloved pets right at home. Although nail trims are a small piece to your pets well-being, it is a necessity. And I’m here for it!! I am proudly serving majority of the Farmington Valley. My plan this yr is to offer expansion of my service radius when I have more hours to offer. Please stay tuned for announcements regarding that when the time comes!
I am honored to be a part of your pet’s life. I look forward to meeting all the new faces, and continue to meet with my clients who helped me be “founding members” of Paws 2 Go!
So happy you’re all here!
